Simpson's Black Friday Sale

was just wanting to see if simpson listed any new brushes, as ive been wanting to try out the manchurian badger. Was shocked to see the black friday sales were in effect, and quite a decent drop in price considering the high cost of these beauties. I look through the lot, and instantly fell in love with the chubby 3, in faux amber handle. My luck of course, its sold out! Someone has my dream brush and i hope they are happy with it! So, i settled on the M7, resting in faux arabescato marble. Should be many long nights waiting for this to arrive!

Congrats. My Chubby 3 is the best brush I have used so far with close second Chubby 2 Super badger.
Mine arrived in 9 days with registered mail.

Those M7s look very nice!

Yea I was really, really close to getting a Chubby 3, but the one I would have wanted was not there. My M&F is essentially a Chubby style, so I figured I'd try something with a larger handle.

Well she showed up today. I did a test lather just now. Still needs some break in, and some some nice smelling soap to get rid of the smell. It's not a pungent nasty smell, but not pleasant. Looks and feels awesome!

Good looking brush! I have an older M7 and it's one of my favorites, mainly due to the handle shape and size. I've been tempted many times to try a Manchurian but the prices keep putting me off.

Love the look of the M7 handle and the one Simpsons Manchurian knot brush I have is my favourite brush. If I got another Simpsons badger brush it would be a Manchurian badger knot. Enjoy your new brush.

I turned my Black Friday Chubby 2 synthetic over to my wife to stuff in my stocking. I really want to get my hands on it. The Black Friday prices were super!

I am slowly working my way up the ladder on quality brushes. There are some collectors out there that really blow my mind with the amount of $ they have in brushes. I saw a sale recently on TSN in which a gentleman sold approximately $1,200 in brushes. I believe it was 5 brushes. That was just what he wasn't using. The quality brushes do seem to hold their value fairly well.

You know about Dr P on the other site? The guy they call the shave brush stockpiler. He has hundreds of brushes.

That is like 3 Chubby 3 Manchurians. In reality if one wants to try one of each quality brush, one should expect to part with a good chunk of dollars. Things get worse when one wants custom handles and transplantation of high end knots.

Are they all Simpson brushes? It looks like the Simpson sticker on the vast majority of the brushes.

There was at least one Chubby 3 in Manchurian in that sale along with a Morris & Forndran and a Paladin. As I recall, a Rooney was the least expensive in that group.

I see Simpson, Rooney and probably Plisson. Notice he has 2 rows per shelf. You are probably looking at 10k+ in brushes on that picture.

Sorry for taking this off the original topic. I was fascinated by that picture of drP's collection, so I looked him up on that other site while watching some football. His collection is amazing. In the picture, I noted that most of the brushes were of the ivory color. That seemed a little bland. I didn't realize that some are real ivory! I found a thread in which he stated that he paid $2k for one large Plisson in ivory. He had a smaller Plisson to match. Apparently these aren't the only real ivory handled brushes in his collection. I also saw a thread where he showed his 5 Chubby 3's.

Still excited about my Chubby 2 synthetic.:tu

Yes, Chubby 3's all in Manchurian. The owner bought 3 of them in the Black Friday Sale! I bet that package was fun to open. I might have to start putting aside a little $ for next year's sale.

Yes, I think he was selling the butterscotch, ebony and cobalt ch3s very recently. Roughly $350 each, so he could get some other colors. Its a shame to break up that impressive lineup. Judging from the density of my ch2 synthetic, there must be a whole badger's hair stuffed into a ch3.

I've been debating contacting them for a ch3 in manchurian. It's hard to justify a new brush at the moment. I have a nos iwasaki tamahagane kamisori en route...

was the user Mustafasa? I managed to snag the jade ch3 from him.

Both of you have obtained some extremely nice gear recently. prodigy, you might as well get a ch3 to go with your unobtanium razor. Congratulations to you. llalm, I believe that is right; I think he goes by the username cricket on TSN. He just sold a bunch of high quality gear. Congratulations on being part of that phenomenal sale.

I, too, also managed to grab the M7 in arabescato on black friday. I will post pics of my brush collection as soon as 3 more brushes arrive in the mail.

Day late...dollar short. Sigh
