    Default Muhle Hexagon brush

Recently i got ahold of a Muhle modular brush.

Because it was a gift i thought it would be not to my liking but surprisingly i really like it. I'm only 2 shaves in so its gonna take some time before its broken in.
The knot is starting to splay as it takes shape and it lathers really well, it lays it off even better. There is a massive amount of scritch or prickliness which i dont like, i can only hope this fades with time.

I do like that i can fill the sink with hot water and unscrew the knot, leaving it floating just beneath the surface..perfect
The handle is stupid heavy but it is what it is.

I also heard that the synthetic knots are really good . Maybe one day.

That is an interesting idea, a modular brush. I have a Muhle Retro brush with the same shaped knot and I would not describe it as being prickly though. It is a big floppy knot that I find hogs the lather.

Yes, the Muhle STF2 knot is an excellent synthetic brush. A few years ago I had a custom brush made using their XL size STF2 knot but had the loft reset lower. That is still one of my favourite synthetic brushes.

Is this something new, or an older concept? Seems someone did this a long while back....

If you like your knots set super-high, seems alright.

Those brushes have been in the Muhle brush line up for a number of years now. Another interesting concept is the Variable Loft Brush, VLB, that Shavemac has done.

Also the stand for this brush accommodates the matching DE razor and normal stands wont fit .. Hence this guy will never hang upside down.

If you are interested in a VLB, it is being resurrected again. See last post.

I like the brushes this company makes. I purchased a travel shaving kit from this company and just love it!
