I bought a big 24mm maggard fan knot and its a nice knot. I did have a little epoxy seepage but I am still happy with it. I hope the pic is ok, I have never posted one from my phone before.

Looks good.!
Always hold your phone horizontally when taking a pic with your phone. Then it will come out right.

Looks good. Whose knot did you use?
Bob
I do like the fan shapes. I might have dropped it down a touch more if possible. But to each his own. As long as it has some backbone and flow. It looks good! What does the loft measure out to be?
Congratulations and that is a lovely brush. :chapeau
It was a 24mm Maggard fan knot. I probably should have tried using other handles and cheaper knots for a first go, but I found that handle and had to jump at it. I am not one for delayed gratification.
So is that a Rubberset handle?
There are a lot of knock offs these days.
The new knot looks good in it. Figuring out your favourite loft can be a rabbit hole that leads you to many brushes.
Nice job.. I want one of those style handles but the only ones I can find are plastic which would be okay but they all seem rather expensive.....
Looks great-I love the 24mm Maggards SHD knot. It's my favorite brush!
Yep its a real rubberset handle. My antique store guy set it aside for me. I get first pick of his blades, and I always tell him to put aside brushes too. I told him to keep stones too, but his pickers dont seem to ever find any of those.
And yes its the two band SHD knot.
Update: That fan shaped knot is a gem! It has a nice backbone and makes a nice mess of lather with whatever soap I use. Its kind of funny that the rubberset handle gets hot when you let the brush soak, preshave. I am very happy with it, and would definitely recommend that knot to anybody that was doing a rebuild.
Looks good. I love the fan shape knots (haven't tried one from Maggards yet but i hope to soon) Can't see why they would even make the bulb ones any more. Bulbs just don't fit my face! :)
I wont post to this again, but I have to say that this brush should be standard issue for everyone. It is so far superior to every other brush that I have. It carries a ton of soap (and water when you are rinsing it), and has a nice back bone for raising a good lather. If I had sunk the knot a bit deeper into the handle, it would probably have been a bit stiffer but wow I love this brush.
