    Default New shavemac

    Hello gentleman,
I am about to order a new brush from shavemac. I can't decide between a bulb or fan. It would be a 28mm knot D01 three band. I'm worried that the fan shaped knot would bloom out a bit much.

    Thanks in advance

I have both types and personally I think they work equally as well. But if you put a gun to my head to make a choice I would take a bulb. I guess I just prefer the feel. Some might say bulbs are better for harder soaps and fans for soft soaps and creams.

    Thank you,
I am a bowel lather with creams, I'm thinking 28mm knot with a 54mm loft. If I go for the bulb then 58mm loft is the shortest option for three band D01.

I think Nelson explained it very well. But Im more in favor of the fan shape. Its all personnal preference.

God knows its not fair of me to police typos, but lordy you may want fIx that to BOWL. I certainly hope it's a typo, anyway.
If you're wondering I'm probably being sarcastic.

Big fan of the D01s, and really can’t go wrong either way. The bloom doesn’t splay out on shavemac D series like a normal brush. I think it’s got to do with the density of hair pack. They cram them in in some way that they are wonderfully established.
Bulb style stay more scratchy, as opposed to the fan that just spreads out enough to be softer from the get go.
I like them both, and use them for different soaps and feels..
Get both kind in time to compare for yourself.

The D01 I have in a bulb shape is still standing and not splayed. As Mike said, they cram so much hair in it I don't think it could splay if it had to. The densest brush you will ever find in my opinion.

That depends on your preference. A 28mm fan knot with a high loft will spaly quite a bit, if you face-lather. A bulb knot with a lower loft will have good backbone and splay much less.
Personally, I prefer bulb knots for their backbone as I face-lather.
    Good luck.

You could always contact Shavemac directly with any questions regarding the knot that you want. The owner is very helpful in that regard.
