Has anyone got any comments on using pen display boxes to house their straight razors?
I've seen a few out there for 10 bucks new and was wondering.
Thanks,
Sean

Byron Todd uses one and it looks great.
I guess there are several kinds. I have some made by a place called burlwoodboxes .com and I can fit 2 razors in them but large 8/8s and some 7/8s won't fit. They run around $30 each.
I use them as well- they do fine.
James.
Cool, thanks guys.

Check out the Levenger Catalog. It's a pen, stationary, and office place, and they do some beautiful pen display cases. Of course, I'm always in favor of supporting individual artisans, but I am a fountain pen user and Levenger has never disappointed me.

Sadly they no longer stock my favorite case, and they are expensive, but they are very nice. They used to do a case that held the pens vertically, with glass on each side, and the inner tray lifted out to access the pens. The last link seems like a good one, especially for razors that you would be using frequently, and it is cheaper.
I have toyed with the idea of using a Surgeon's instrument canvas wrap for holding/storing my straights in.

Very nice cases. If the quality is as nice as it looks I wouldn't consider these prices too high albeit the hundred dollar one competes price wise with what one could purchase from classic shaving. I really do prefer to support individual artisans I just don't have any info handy on who might do something like this.
Thanks for the info.
