Need advice on a brush

This may sound riduclous, as I am currently using a badger brush... But the other day I was visiting my father and I had forgotten my shaving brush. He uses mug soap, but disposable razors... Anyhow, I used his brush and I was so incredibly impressed with the results.

His brush is made, bizarrely, of horse hair. It was wonderful, though, stiffer than the hammers of hell and a little abrasive. It made my face feel so clean, and I haven't had as good a shave in months.

So, now I'm on the hunt for a roughish, very, very stiff brush. Any advice?

a cheap boar bristle might be just what you are looking for.. you can find them in most drug stores right by pucks of williams soap. Run you about 2 bucks.

Horse hair was popular a very long time ago but they stopped using it because of Anthrax scares. I would suggest a pure badger brush. Its stiff like a boar but holds water better and isn't much more money.

Boar boar boar. Omega professional. $10-$12 bucks, will last you forever, stiff but smooth and gentle especially after breaking in. Or a Vulfix boar, I've heard good things about them too.

But yeah, Omega. The last word in Boar brushes.

An Omega boar would be a great choice. It you want to stick with a badger brush look at a Rooney 3/1 or 1/1.
