How good is the brush that comes in this package?
Truefitt & Hill - Ultimate Traveler
It seems pretty basic and is so low quality it can't be bought on it's own?
Any thoughts?

They don't seem to sell any pure badger brushes on their own. I should imagine there's nothing wrong with it, as a basic brush. Do you have an idea of your budget?
I don't know about that one but I bought this Kingsley almost a year ago and have been very satisfied with it and use it daily. Of course it's my only badger brush so I can't compare it to anything but for the price ($26) I found it a good deal.
I have an ok first time brush for sale. A pure badger. 5 USD + shipping.
IMO In this kind of packages the brush is mostly the weakest part and overpriced. You can get a much better options from on line shops and if you live in States the postage should not be the problem either.

The English Shaving Company - Edwin Jagger shaving accessories, shaving creams and aftershaves
Tweezerman is a cheap starter brush (about $10-15) which you can see in that wiki thread. It's not a biggest one but works well and is a pure badger

This looks a lot like the starter kit that I picked up last night form Art of Shaving. Their starter kit includes pre-shave oil, cream, pure badger hair brush and after shave balm for $25 bucks. They have a larger size kit for 50 that includes a little bit fuller brush.
I would highly recommend the kit I got. I love mine!
Thanks for the Art of Shaving suggestion. Getting my razor this week and I wanted an easy low-price entry for the soap/brush/etc. and given that there's an Art of Shaving very nearby me I will definitely check this out.
If price is your only concern, EJ has a special going on for their small brushes. Otherwise, fendrihan.com makes their own brushes for a pretty good price. Then...there is always the bay.
I personally recommend EJ best badger in whatever knot you can afford. Buy the medium and you probably won't buy another brush unless you get SBAD.
this is a very good brush for the money i have used it for 4 months so far and have only lost 1 or 2 hairs out of it if you dont mind a short handle its great
