For those cheapie boar bristles
While playing around a bit today I came up with a cheap, easy fix for those cheapy boar hair brushes where the bristles splay the minute you touch your face with the brush, causing you to go right down to the handle trying to get a decent result out of your brush...
You know those thick elastics that come on broccoli? Try doubling one of them over on the bristles, you can play around with exactly how high up you place it to get different levels of firmness.
Now mind you, this does cause you to lose a lot of surface area for your lather, but hell, it beats not being able to pack the lather in to your hair, right?
Or of course you could just buy a better brush, but hey, I haven't seen anyone with the user name JD_Rockafeller lately ;)
