So yeah, thats the question....1 brush for every shave from now on...what brush would you choose?
The reason im asking is im just curious as to what people would describe as their best brush. I have the Tweezerman right now and im getting ready to pull the trigger on a Shavemac 177.
An Old Traditional.
Probably the old boar brush that I almost always use. Not sure what brand it is.
Prolly my Kent BK8--works great for soaps and creams!
Currently my Semogue 2015. Although once I get a handle for a knot I've got sitting round here, it'll probably be my custom 28mm high-density silvertip brush.
My Shavemac variable loft -- three brushes in one!
ATM that would be my Omega Syntex. This will raise a few eyebrows, I am sure.
I'll tell you why: of all brushes I ever tried it simply whips the creamiest lathers with only a very small amount of cream. Reading the posts on lathering I always get the impression that an almond sized amount of cream is recommended. With a Syntex you need much less.
So for those of you that like expensive creams: with a Syntex you get more shaves from a tub(e).

That is a tough one. I had SBAD in my DE days. A tossup between a Simpson Polo 8, a Plisson HMW 12 and a Rooney style 1 size 1 finest. :shrug:
I only have one brush so that would be it.
It would be my Dan Capshaw 28mm silvertip. It's an awesome brush! Absolutely stuffed to the gill's with badgerey goodness.
I've been wanting to try a big Plisson one day though, so it would be a shame to miss that.

I have only two brushes, one I purchased and another I restored. I would definitely choose the restore. I don't know if its the nostalgia of it, my own efforts in restoring it, or kind of strange but all the same in that some guy used this brush a long time ago. I changed the bristles of course, silvertip 28mm maybe.
Semogue 1305 boar.
Once I get a Semogue 2000 boar and 1520 boar, I'll be able to answer the question a little better.
But I may never get them, I'm so happy with my Semogue 1305. :D

- First choice would be an old Simpson handle that I put a Golden Nib pure badger knot into, but that means littel to most cause it's not a comercial available brush.
- Second, would be a Rooney 3/1 in Best.
+1 on the Rooney 3/1. It's only my 3rd brush but I love it and don't see the need to go anywhere else.
