I'm looking for something functional, nice looking, but not extravagant (overly pricey). I'd like to stay under $50 for sure.

Found mine hanging above my workbench. It took a trip to the vice and met some spray paint.

Can even use it backwards and its fully adjustable!
Pretty damn good idea. That is just a hook from peg board. You could probably go to Depot, Lowes, Ace etc and pick up something like that.
I just buy cheapo ones something like this:
Mens MOCK TORTOISE SHAVE BRUSH STAND for Shaving Brush - eBay (item 290387405600 end time Feb-01-10 17:43:03 PST)
If you end up with several brushes as many folks do,you may want to screw them onto your shave den wall or shelf and display them.
I hate to have to admit this, but most of my brush stands are the flat bottoms of the brushes' handles. They're really inexpensive and seem to work well.

Once I've finished a shave, I rest my lather-laden brush on the puck of soap sitting in my shaving mug and I leave it there til I shave again
Nickel plated stand from Classic Shaving - 17.99 plus S&H. There are even cheaper ones out there. It works, why pay more.
