Anyone have any experience, good or bad, with one of these brushes?
PC Woodcraft and Pens - 28mm Silvertip Badger Brushes
I guess I'm a bit wary as this seems a bit cheap for a custom/handmade silvertip brush.

Hello Jonathan,
I purchased one of those brushes, a few months back. The burl handles are beautiful...gorgeous, in fact, imo. However, the brush is huge...i mean huge! Be prepared for that...and use a large mug or bowl. Also, it holds so much lather, i feel like i am kissing a mop.
The silvertip knots, do lose a bit of hair initially and i wasnt too happy with that, but the loss seems to have stopped.
Bottom line: I use it occasionally, for kicks, but primarily use my smaller brushes the most.

Many thanks,

I bought one silver tip from them few months back. It's highly polished and absolutely gorgeous. There were some bristle losses at the beginning, as mentioned above, but it stopped after some uses. The brush size may be subjective; I certainly have no problem with mine. Get it if you want an unique and high quality brush.
Does anyone has bought a Pure Badger knot from this brand ?
I've dealt with Pat (PC WoodCraft) before. I Purchased Horse hair and Boar hair knots from him. The knots are good. And personally think his work looks great! As for the knots losing some hairs, I don't care who is selling them some hairs will shed. If you're loosing 10 a shave I think I would be concerned, but a hair here and there I wouldn't worry about.
The Boar is typical boar plenty of back bone. The horse, well lets say once the smell washes out it's a bit floppy. I think maybe if you set the loft lower it would work better. One person though thought they were a bit stiff, but everyone has an opinion. I have two horse and boar knots I haven't made brush handles for. I will set the loft say closer to 50mm for the horse (I made one for myself and the loft is at 55mm) needs to be set lower.
The horse hair is soft to me, boar is stiff
Makes not a hill of beans in the knot,Is all about how the loft is set.
Some knots work very well as they are out of the box
Some knots with the tendency to "floppy" must be tossed in the handle a little bit more to work.
Sometimes work but you have to do work with tools,if you haven't them or the experience to do it all you have is a floppy knot ONLY for painting movings, not adequate for swirling.
