I had a potter friend design a few old time looking shave mugs for me. These may be a regular item on my site but for now they will look nice in the bathroom with my vintage razors.

Hey Tony,
Nice looking mugs. I'd buy one!
Tony,
Very nice...kind of an "old look" to them. Do you know the interior dimensions? Or, does a puck of Williams fit snugly?
RT
Randy,
he is sending the samples this week so I can check dimensions. He can adjust sizing to suit. These were just to approve the lettering.
They are similar in size to an Old Spice mug at this point but I may adjust that once I try them.
Tony
Your inventory and selection is becoming quite large Tony, are you planning on keeping this up? ;) Honestly, you have some of the best stuff I've seen around with the exception of Classic Shaving :D
They are cool as cofee mugs, too...
Tony, those mugs are way cool. Maybe when we order them we could get are initials or name on the back side?

My main focus will always be strops, hanging and paddle as they are what I enjoy making. The Belgians will be here too. The brushes are an experiment, the mugs too as I just wanted something nicer than the Marvey mugs in my kits.
I won't be doing the razor or accessory thing as Classic Shaving has all that anyone could ever want and I too am a frequent customer there. I just felt there was a need for fairly priced strops and in variations not commonly found. This is and will always be just a sideline.

That would work for me and I'm sure for many others as well.Quote:

Maybe we should see how many people are willing to commit? If it's enough, then a one-off special order might not be too bad, even if poor Tony doesn't want to add customized mugs to his regular inventory.
When I bought my shaving scuttle from classic shaving they included your initials for free. They also had shaving mugs with your initials. Pretty cool:D

The brush is really hot so when you work up a lather with the soap it goes on really warm. Nice...
Cool, thanks! Perhaps I'll pick one up one of these days.Quote:

That could fit nicely on the other side for a nice balance!Quote:

One of the car business "cliches" is "half of the deal is the feel of the wheel". One of my co-workers teases me with "the last thing you'll feel is the cut of the steel".Quote:

Rich,
I told him that would not be the case if the razor is properly honed and stropped...wouldn't feel a thing!

Good one probably true too.
Tony,
I like the mugs as they are; so far the strops I have from you are among the best I've ever owned; From the look of them, the mugs are top of the line as well.
John P.
Judt got the first two samples in hand and they do have that 1860s feel. They look and feel just like the old crocks and jugs seen in antique shops. These will be fine for cake soaps and one could squeeze a little cream into them as well. They are made for an average sized brush though, not one of those rich mans monsters <g>.
The initials idea gets complicated. The logo as it stands is glaze, rubber stamped into the base grey color then fired over with a clear glaze. Initials would require separate rubber stamps each time or would have to be hand lettered. My potter said he could do it but would prefer not to. Like my brush maker, the potter has a regualr market with his normal craft items and does shows and gallery exhibits most of the year, doing brushes and mugs is to fill in during their slow periods so special orders are iffy.
I may do a "Well Shaved Gentleman" logo on the other side though. Right now the Heirloom Razor Strop logo is on both sides.
Tony
Well, I've got a Sharpie... :hmmm:Quote:
