You can make multiple choices by the way.
I was just curous how many of you have had an experience with the knot falling out of the brush and if it happened by itself or you did something to it and if it was a new brush or vintage.

RUN AWAY!!! SPAM^^^^^
Somewhere around 1972 or 73 I bought a badger brush for $80.00 at Hoffritz for cutlery. No maker's name but stamped with the Hoffritz label. I used that brush daily for thirty years and one day the knot shook out of the handle.
I let it dry out completely and used silicone to put it back in and it was solid after that. I've never had a knot on a new brush fall out ... knocking on wood.
That would be a bummer. No, the knot in my $15 Tweezerman is as good as the day I opened up the box almost three years ago. I love it.

I've never had a knot fall out of a razor but I have taken a few out to replace with new knots. Some come out very easy and others have the intention of staying put.
Funny you brought this topic up. Right in the beginning of this wonderful hobby of mine. I bought a AOS Gillette chrome series badger brush. The brush had a beautiful chromed handle. The second time i used it the knot just fell out of it's handle while i was face lathering. I brought it right back to the store for a refund. The salesperson looked the product over and said it was a quality control issue. The glue seperated from the the handle. I bought a Rooney to take it's place and i have been very happy with it. I guess things worked out for the better..
Hello, everyone:
I have modestly-priced as well as expensive brushes. Fortunately the knots are still firm in the handles.
