Tortoise Brush
Hey there, does anyone have any suggestions for a nice brush with a tortoise handle that would somewhat match the Dovo special faux tortoise?
Thanks

I purchased the Edwin Jagger best badger in faux tortoise. Here is a picture from today's shave of the day. i do like it, although I do not have but one other brush to compare and that is a boar brush.

Thanked: 317The only suggestion that comes immediately to mind, would be to shop around for a handle, new or vintage. If you can find any handle (even if it wasn't originally a shave brush) you can easily put a good quality knot in it from thegoldennib, as long of the hole is appropriately sized.

thanks for the suggestions. Maybe I'll keep my eye out for a handle but that Jagger looks nice too.

Plisson has brushes with faux tortoise handles that look very nice. Check out vintagebladesllc.com. They have them available in several different grades of badger hair. Here is a picture of my HMW faux tortoise brush with a BEMA faux tortoise straight.

Tortoise Brush
Hello, Fleetwood:
Many manufacturers produce shaving brushes with a tortoise handle, which gives you a big selection. Try the vendors posted here at SRP. I am not sure about an exact match with the tortoise shell Dovo, but you can come quite close. I, too, am fond of Edwin Jagger products, and I have seen brushes with tortoise shell handles at the English Shaving Company.

Rooney makes a nice faux Tortoise brush as well. Check out VB as well as other vendor's websites who advertise here at SRP.
