Hiya,
When I bought my first brush I did skimp a bit in order to buy a decent razor, I already had my dad's old shaving mug.
I am wondering what difference I could expect if I spend some money on a decent brush if any?

I picked up one of those in germany too, I like it alot. I also have a top of the line Goldien Nib and the difference seeems to be that the super badger Golden nib is softer onthe the skin and the lather holds in the middle better (if that makes sense). So, in my opinion you could stick with that brush and be happy...But if you wanted to take it up a notch try a super silver tip for the ultimate...Quote:

It's a matter of what qualities you like in a brush that should determine what you get. Pretty much any brush be it boar or pure badger or two band badger will do the job. It's also hard to compare brands because they can vary so much. Just stick with a popular brand (manufacturer) and you should be ok no matter what you get.
Thanks for the responses. Maybe when my technique starts to come along i'll treat myself to one of those custom badger nibs. Those look like they are extremely well made,nice looking handles too.:)
