    Stunning work.

If it had a matching cover it would really be super perfect.

Great looking set! I like the two matching brush styles, but with different woods.

    Hello, Cannonfodder:

Such impressive workmanship. You have put a master's touch on the brushes and the bowl. Good for you.

I am curious to know how well the wood bowl works for lather. Does it also retain heat? Thanks.

    Regards,
    Obie

Trade secrete. I use 2, sometimes 3 different finishes depending on the wood. The final coat is a marine finish made for boat decks so it is waterproof and durable. It also has a slight tacky feel, not sticky, but not slick. You do not want your brush slipping out of your hand.

It will hold heat quite well. Lathers as good as anything else. Sometimes I will turn some rings in the bottom so there is more texture for the brush to bite into but I do not notice that much difference. I will fill my bowl with hot water, then shower. The wood will absorb the heat nicely. You would not want to put boiling water in it, but regular hot tap water is just fine. I have one or two but 99% of the time I just use a large heavy coffee mug.
