Scuttles without holes???
Since I'm using shaving creams, I don't want a scuttle that is designed to drain hard soap. Are there any? Does the Moss Scuttle have holes?

Thanked: 2The moss scuttle was designed by Doctor Moss specifically for shaving CREAMS. There are no holes and the top basin is surrounded by hot water underneath, to give it's user piping hot lather for all passes. I don't know of any other scuttle designed this way. I own about 40 and all are the traditional type. The Moss Scuttle is basically a heated bowl for shaving creams.

Thanked: 0Tom,
The Moss Scuttle does not have holes.
You will find it as great an improvement to your enjoyment of the shave, as that first badger brush, or your first truly "keen" str8 razor!!
I build the lather in the top pot first, let the brush sit in the lather while I strop, wet my face, then apply the lather.
The lather remains hot (very warm) though 3 full passes.
Enjoy! (Look at the lather building pics posted by Dr Moss at SMF )

Thanked: 0I simply used a hot glue gun to plug up the holes in mine. Can be undone in the future if needed.

Tom,
I have the Moss Scuttle and it's great. It works with creams or soaps, although the soap will slide around a bit but it's not a problem. You get nice warm lather throughout your shave. Go over to ShaveMyFace.com and there's plenty of info on it as well as ordering info.

Actually I find I don't need a large amount of shaving cream so I just put a small dollup on my brush and lather on my face. Works for me.
