What is the best way to break in a knot. I have 3 Knots from TGN. ST- Boar- ST A. So far i have tried the Boar and the ST.
Also how do you clean the knot? I read about using Borax, i think.. How much would you use? I also was told to use shampoo. What is best.

I've always just washed good with shampoo then done a few lathers to break in my brushes. What have you put all these knots into? Share the restores!

Cleaning and breaking in are two different issues. Cleaning is best done either with some shampoo or maybe a teaspoon of borax in a large coffee cup and some hot tap water and just soak and twirl for maybe a hour or so on and off then rinse well. As far as break in goes usually through use they break in but I'm no expert on boar.

So far i have tried all of them once except for the boar twice. First try the best was the ST-A. Had a huge differance from the plain ST. I dont know if it had to do with the knot size. I will know better after more use.
The boar is very nice. Only the 2nd use but seems to be very nice.
