In the market for a new brush...

I'm a few clicks away from buying a BK8 but I've seen a few custom brushes I really liked,can anyone direct me to a good custom brush maker or can any brush makers PM me. I just wanna see whats out there before I drop the money for the Kent. Thx in advance.

The way I've always looked at it, if you want a working brush avoid wood handles and get just about anything else and of course most customs use wood.I've had a few and there is a care issue I don't want to mess with. I think they're great for display or occasional use though.

I would look towards a Thater they make some mighty fine pieces for daily use.

When it comes to brushes I'm more interested in the working side of the beast.

Check our reviews for pointers for brands to buy.

I've been using a Simpson Colonel X2L for the last few months and it's a really nice, affordable brush.

I have a LE Semogue Caravela on the way as well, cannot WAIT to get my hands on that!

Although they're on the cheaper side, I can't say enough good things about Franks Shaving Brushes. There is such a wide variety and as Thebigspendur said, the working side of the beast is what matters. For the price, they excel in what could be asked for. They sell quick on eBay but are well worth the money spent. Just my opinion though.

I've it used VDH, omega, and Frank. The Frank, to me, seems quite nice. I'm saving for a Simpson chubby to try, though. Star shaving usually keeps the Frank brushes in stock. They're the gateway to badger, IMLE.

I already have a small vulfix super and I have a silvertip franks on the way but I was thinking about getting a custom brush with a wood handle to match my LeGrelot's....can you tell me about the extra care the wood needs? If not a custom I've had my eye on the Kent Bk8 for some time now. Thanks for all the imput.
