Based on your concept, I went and created my own scuttle from stuff I found available around here. Works like a dream and brought my shaving enjoyment level up dramatically just by using warm lather. Great idea!!
hey man. I think you could use Flowable Silicone to for a graded rubber 'ramp' around the edge of the dish basicly making it into a rubber stopper. If you put a bead of silicone around the edge then use something like a plastic card (think credit card like) and spread it by laying the edge of the card on the rim of the cup and against the side and then swipe it around to spread the silicone. a bit hard to explain but i think you can figure out what im saying. the silicone dries tough but still flexible should make a nice seal.
good luck

I went to the hardware store and purchased a rubber O-ring. It slips just great over the inner cup I use and seals everything up nicely.
Congrats Steve. You should post a picture if you can.Quote:

I think that would be great. I've also seen some pretty innovative ideas.Quote:

1. 3 separate pieces
2. how the rubber O-ring fits on the crock (I don't know the official name for this piece)
3. all together. the ring seals in the heat nicely and provides a cushion so the crock doesn't knock around.
