hello all, i just started diving deeper into straight razor shaving and would like to invest in a good brush, unfortunately i dont know what names to look up or even where i can get a good deal. anybody mind giving me some info on where to look and what to look for?

There are dozens of different brushes available and most of them will do the job pretty well, I guess we will need to know your budget and if you want something scrubby or soft.
i wouldnt like to spend over 80 on a brush unless its highly recommended, im still looking to buy a real straight razor and not the disposables. something scrubby to really lift the hair, my neck is pretty sensitive so anything to lift that hair up and soften the skin.
Did you read the primer at the beginning of this forum?
It's going to depend what size brush you want. Probably for what you want to spend a best badger is the way to go. I would look at the standard names like Thater and Simpson and Vulfix and Rooney. There are also the guys who make brushes and if you peruse the forum here you will see their names.
My current favorite brush is a $19 Semogue 1305 Boar. I liked this brush so much after it broke in I ended up selling my Simpsons Duke 3, but as everything is with shaving, YMMV!
