...that is my question :D . I plan on running out and getting a C&E $35 best badger brush (which I hear nothing but good reviews for), and am wondering if it is honestly worth picking up a stand for the brush also. I know C&E sells one for ~$17, and I can get a plastic one on many websites for just over $5.
1. Is it worth buying a stand?
2. If so, does it matter which one I get?
The stand isn;t "essential." The brush will be fine without it; just make sure to do proper drying of the brush when you're done shaving.
Personally, I use the stands. It appears to me to kepp the brushes' blooms from over expanding.
The short answer is they're not necessary. The long answer is there's a number of past threads that discuss the pros/cons of this and offer alternatives to a stand... I'll let you do the search and read up on that.Quote:

That's an awesome design. I'm going to have to make me one since I don't have extra space either in my bathroom. Using this would be a perfect solution.

They have a Kent stand that's a perfect match for the Edwin Jagger brush for $8.50CDN here where the $35 brush costs $55+14% tax.
I've got 20 brushes, and one stand. I see no need to have a stand for every brush. I've stored my brush in a stand and NEVER seen any water drip from it. Rinse your brush, give it a vigorous shake and set it on it's end. It will dry just fine.

I guess stands are not needed...but that Kent stand is appealing. Anyone know the link to it or size?
I can't find them online, but you may want to check may be available in their retail stores. I have seen them in every major city in Ontario. It looks like this Vulfix http://www.classicshaving.com/catalo...550/422835.htm, just with a smaller cutout, to accomodate smaller-knotted brushes.
I don't use a stand in general and shake like there's no tomorrow!
I totally dig Joe's design, though - especially the clipping to the mug. I don't use a mug but just like Joe's idea
