made rite brush restore
found this brush at an antique store for a deal and just had to give it a new life. looked kind of crusty 'till i hit it with some wet dry and micro-mesh. all it needs is a new knot.(those nylon bristles aren't worth saving are they?)

What a difference on the handle, :tu
I think it would look great with a badger in it, that's if you can get the old one out without any damage to the handle, if not, it's o.k. as it is.
-
The bristles look to be in good shape. I'd at least try them out a few times and see how they work.
Some of them can actually be pretty good.
-
That looks great.Have never used a syn or even a boar. But give it a try,you might like it.
-
Handle looks great, any thoughts on the knot?
-
Nice job. I would leave it as it is even if it isn't your favorite.
-
The bristles appear to be in good shape...I'd give it a go before trying to take the knot out. Nice work you did overall..the thing looks like new :)

Great save on the handle. Looks like new.

I have a nylon brush that I use to prep my beard with VDH soap. Works great for cleaning and softening the hair. After rinsing, I use a badger and a better soap to lather before shaving. Keep the nylon. It will work great for pre-shave cleanups.

My dad used to have a nylon brush from the same period. It was terrible. I'd replace that knot in a heartbeat.
