On mine I killed the primer and removed the cordite, no worrys:)

I was going to say Uncle Jake found a casing like that in his backyard and started pounding on it with a hammer to get the innards out. These days we just call him lefty.
Just for reference the casing is a French brass casing with headstamp "37-85 / [ordnance bomb] /PDPs 19.9.17". Used in 37mm x 85mm infantry guns and main weapon of FT17 tanks by both U.S. and French troops.

To me I would say that it is not as soft to the touch and much stiffer than the badger. Some of that may have to do with the fact that on this one I really packed the knot. Ken
