My V2.0 Mühle fibres are still my favorite brush, but I don't know of anyplace to buy knots alone.
I got a lathe to play with and would like to find the largest synthetic knot around. Newest generation is important here, since that's all I've used and have heard not so great things about the earlier synthetics.
Just wondering what others do for synthetic knots besides buy a whole brush?
Just bought one to try from TGN - feels super soft but I haven't set it in a handle and actually used it. Don't know about "Newest Generation" so I can't help you there

At that price though, there is no way I'd get one. Well, that's my first thought anyhow. Can get a v2.0 brush from Connaught shipped for 25 bucks, so I might just get one of those in this case. The next question would be how to get the knot out without damaging it?
IDK, I will keep my eyes open, but I think what I'm really looking for - a 25+mm knot as good as the latest Mühle, that's available for less than 80 bucks and not stuck in a generic handle - will have to wait until more people figure out how great synthetic knots can be.
I heard Frank shaving's new synthetics are great too and they are less expensive maybe. Going to check out some other brands at least.

Can buy the Frank Shaving knots here. I actually messaged them to see if they sell the 30mm listed on the website as well.
Looks to me to be the same but Frank Shaving has a better size selection, looks like you helped me more then I helped you.....
But where is the pricing for Frank shaving? The products show, but no prices..........:confused:
The ebay store I linked was linked on the FS website. If a 28mm is the largest they stock, I'd still be plenty happy with that. I've read that the bristles are very close to the new Mühle (they may come from the same source?) so I think the ebay store price is reasonable for that large a knot. The smaller knots look very affordable, so I'm glad to have found this.Quote:
