Well, here's one for you,,,I went to the Wood You store done the street , the place where they have products there that you finish yourself. I bought from them about 15 years ago. I was looking for a cabinet for my brushes & shaving equipment. Most of the products were made from wood exported from Vietnam. I was surprised that wood was exported from there. When I have visited there, it mostly looks like small trees & jungle vegetation. Most of the businesses burn coconut husks in their ovens & not wood.
I don't remember the name of the Vietnamese wood sold there, so I went to their website & it was not there either,,,,yet much of the furniture there was Vietnamese wood, or so they said.
Very nice Bill!!

Bill is this wood oily too?
There is certainly an abundance of beautiful woods & burls here,
When I am driving interstate i see burls on trees and think how could I get that home as it would make an awesome bowl or sink then as I get closer I realise it could make a bath and it would be lucky to fit in a ute lol
There's all sorts of interesting woods here. Banksia seed pods are quite popular for certain kinds of woodworking projects. I'm definitely not an expert on this stuff though, so whether something like that would make a good brush handle/razor scales is not something I could say.
Here's an example of a tea light candle holder (I think) made from a banksia seed pod, followed by the "raw material" as it were.
