My vote is the oil finish, and I do find a certain appeal to the more natural less shiny vs what would be the CA finish.

I love the finish. I am a big believer in linseed oil for a finish. I had finished a bunch of gun stocks in linseed oil with excellent results!

Tru-oil is great stuff.Is linseed with a dryer in the mixture.Only problem with it if used on light colored woods it will yellow it.
A better solution can be made using windsor & Newton Refined Linseed (artist supply stores) Is clear in color.
Cut it 33% with Lighter Fluid (Naptha) and you have tru-oil.
