Geez I wouldn't do that, they're lovely...and just imagine, one TV episode in the future, on the Antique's show, "Well, these two Nubian beauty's would have been worth several hundred thousand dollars, but for the fact that what you think are elaborate headdresses, are in fact badger hair shaving knots, making these wonderful statues worthless...however, they do look like they may produce a good lather."
Next time I see a troll, he is mine.
Just thinking about filling and then drilling. That is the approach I would take. Plaster would be my number one choice of filler as I have seen that in old brushes before. Won't get hot, expand, and not nearly as hard to drill out to proper size. To much epoxy at once and I bet it winds up in the knot farther than you want. The stuff can be messy. Maybe epoxy a piece of that sidewalk chalk in there after sizing it some? Small box of plaster of paris would be enough for 50 trolls. Just a brain fart.
OK, I'm in. See what I can come up with too. :)
Am Out, go back to my horns, bones ,ivory and wood crap:) have fun guys.

A slightly better piccie with my new omega 10098 that arrived today. A bit of epoxy has got onto his face, it looks a bit like a tear.
As if its crying from being one of Dr. Frankenstein's experiments? Oddly enough though I do really like it. Are you going to keep experimenting with coloring the knot
Am digging it, Edmund. Cool! :D
looks great, a tear of kill me please I think
the cheap shops have cheap hair dye that may work better
Ed, that's super cool. I love it.
I like it!
:tu
Looks pretty cool. Let us know how it works out.
This masterful creation of a Troll Brush :medvl: should keep zombies, werewolves, aliens and other unwanted life forms far and away from your shaving gear.
Great job, Edmund.
Dave
Nice. I like it!
I was thinking that if you put it in front of you at the bingo table it should bring you luck!
So how much glue did it take to fill around it and how did it set up?
I used about 1/3 - 1/2 of the syringe in the head and it seems to have set well, i will know for sure tonight, i squirted the rest into the body, that was still a bit tacky, i think it didnt set properly because i mixed it in the body rather than on a tray. i do have 1/2 an inch of space in the bottom to fill from the second pack of epoxy, so as long as i mix it properly it should be fine.
The knot is set up to the top of the glue that holds the knot together, which is coincidentally level with the lowest point of the head, i am not sure what to do about the rest of the gap , i suppose i could support the troll at a few different weird angles and fill it with epoxy in sections, or i could just leave it as is.
I just had this vision of you mixing epoxy by squeezing a trolls belly! I hope that it disappears when I go to bed and doesn't lead to bad dreams! :-]
Holy Crap guys.I wanted to get away from this thread but I just had a horrible nightmare.
Ed sent this THING to me to fill and set the knot,no prob, I do re-knots all the time says I.
I looked at this THING, filled it with Black powder, set the knot, drilled a small hole in the THINGS bung hole, inserted a fuse,FIRE IN THE HOLE.
The THING is now all over my backyard.Just tiny bits and pieces, going back to bed now, alls well that ends well:)
Am sorry Ed, was just a Dream:)
Troll update -after sanding down the epoxy in the lower section to get a reasonably flat base i tried the brush, it works as well as it did previously (no surprises there i suppose) i think the loft is slightly greater as only the plug is really set into the epoxy in the head.
to use it is quite comfortable, i think because the arms are moulded to the body.
Dave, whilst it is slightly top heavy loaded it will stand up on its own - just, dry it is fine.

That's a winner, Ed
