Just a thought, but a brush does not have to be round. You can take a block and file, sand or grind some nice hollow curves where the corners are. Play with the depths until it feels comfortable in the hand....
I'm thinking ......troll brush....haha
It is currently in my brother's garage waiting for me to make a stand for it, but this is close to what it looks like. Except it only has two pulleys instead of four. It is an old craftsman. I got it from a neighbor of my uncle that paid $2.50 many, many years ago from from an elderly lady whose husband had died and it was sitting in his garage since. Needed a motor, but I have a 1/2 hp that I plan on using or to be honest my brother does that I am claiming. Came with a few extra banjos and no tool rest so had to make one. Nothing fancy, but for what I want to do with it I think it will work.
