Wrapped this one up last night for a fellow member, Rollincoal69. From bottom to top we have transparent orange, clear, smoke acrylic. I polished it inside and out and epoxied in a 24mm 2 band knot with a loft of 50mm.

Dang Andrew! That turned out way better than I thought when we first designed it. Being a mechanic I like to see how things work. I don't think the knot showing thru ruins it at all. Great work an can't wait to get that brush in rotation. :bow
Andrew - why couldn't you sleeve the inside so the epoxy/knot base doesn't show? I'm thinking copper, brass, or even heavy gauge paper.
Or gold leaf....actually have liked all of your brushes but really like this venture into acrylics......colors kick ass.Quote:

As far as air entrapment in the joints,have you tried weld-on,sci grip #16,it is thick like epoxy and fills every void ,no bubbles and makes for a very strong joint.

I have made a couple of brushes which I have shown on here & people liked them. I used Elk horn for handles but like you, there are so many different things that can be used.Quote:

Finally! This awesome brush showed up today. Pictures don't even come close to showing the depth in the acrylic. This is by far the sexiest brush in my collection. Will get some post bloom pics up when I can. Thanks again to Andrew for the fantastic work! Love it!
