Just a quick question, I OK on a lathe, but how do get the old knot out safely?

I'll think about this until the knot shows and and then go with my gut instinct. I can always turn a new handle if it comes to that. I've been trying to duplicate the 'tulip' style handle from Simpson, but I just can't seem to get it quite right....

Thats my second reknot.
Doubt you'll hurt the handel.
And it was... Very easy and quick.

Like stealing candy from a baby.
Only way I'll ever do it, if should ever arise again.

Dont know how it would work on a vintage rubber set knot though.

I'm about to re knot my brush handle as well. I also ordered my new knot from ebay. There's actually quite a lot of seemingly decent sources for Badger knots. Who knew! ! I mean at the risk of sounding cheap. ... Why 'knot'
Buy something line a perfecto or a lower end handle and give it a make over. In the end I can have a really nice Silvertip brush at a fraction of the cost! ....btw pun was most certainly intended. Lol
