Trying some earth tones.

I've been wanting to do this combination for a while now, and had planned on sticking a Shavemac knot in this one but a couple guys spoke up changed my plans. No worries.

Top portion is Honey Jasper Tustone (Rekon Stone) which is one of the easier Rekon stones to turn with HSS tools. The base is Cocobolo, and as you can see by the striping, it's why I picked the honey jasper. They compliment each other very well. One coat of oil has already been applied, 3 more will be going on in the coming week. Badger knot is a 24mm Virginia Sheng silvertip set to 48mm loft.

Not sure why I didn't start doing this sooner, but the last 3 photos of the finished brush were taken with my Olympus E-PL5. Way better shots.

Cocobolo has been one of my favorite woods for years. That's a real beauty with an exceptional piece of wood.

Beautiful! The finish really brings out the color of the wood and allows the two materials to compliment each other perfectly.

I have a BlackBerry Leap which is what I typically take my brush photos with, and the photos it takes are so bad. I had a Z10 before this one and it took fantastic up close photos. I don't usually use my Olympus for taking photos of my shaving gear, but I really need to start. It takes fantastic photos, and like I said, the last 3 are pics from it.

Agreed, what you use to take your pictures with can make a ton of difference. It is kind of complicated to take really great shave gear pictures. I have a good camera, and I am totally comfortable with making all of the settings manually, my struggle has been with lighting, and having the right size of photo for uploading. I have used my iPhone for a few but the quality is not there at all.

That has to be one of the most elegant brushes I've seen you turn out. Dude that one rocks!
