My First Homemade Shaving Brush
I've had a blast this last week in the woodworking shop making brushes with my dad and brother-in-law. This is the first shaving brush handle I've made. What a blast! :y I get the feeling that this will be the first of many homemade brushes. The handle is Honduras Rosewood and the knot is 24mm short loft Silvertip from "the Nib." The rosewood turned beautifully and sanded down to what I felt was a very nice natural shine. I finished the handle with three applications of teak oil. I was thinking of applying one or two more coats, but I was happy with the color after three. So, I stopped. I glued the knot in last night, and I can't wait to give it a spin tonight!
