Don't forget there's a drill press for you to use if you like. Let me know...

Well it was tempting but after looking at what I had planned it seemed like an expensive proposition for a limited use. Instead I plan on shaping the handles using my hand tools, I can work much quicker and more importantly safer using my chisels and spokeshave, plus they have other uses in wood woodworking. If I ever get a proper workspace a lathe is going to be high on my list tho.
Thanks Kris, I haven't forgot, I'm still deciding on knot sizes etc. I grabbed a chunk of olive and purpleheart from Lee Valley. i discovered that they no longer are carrying Cocobola :( The guy said there was problems sourcing it or something. Its too bad cause its one of my favorites.
I use "Goop". less messy and easier than epoxy. I just smear some inside the hole on the sides, put a big wad on top of the knot, and put it in. Adjust as desired for depth and hang upside down. The stuff dries faster around the knot so the wad on top flows down, but won't come out. Downside is you gotta let it dry upside down for a week or so.
I have done several this way and had no problems whatsoever.
