We did it!
Finally used our newly purchased lathe. We made our first brush for my son to use. We are both learning how to use the lathe and this is our first completed project. Came out very nice I must say. Once he picked out his pattern we used the 12 different grits to get a mirror finish. I'll let everyone know after the glue dries how it works. Used a silver tip badger knot and Dragon skin plastic for the handle.

THat is wonderful, Sadly I was out of the home most of the time my son was growing. So I had no-one to teach to love nice work as much as I do. great projects make for a later life closeness!

Isn't your son just a tad young for needing a brush? Or is there another son? At any rate, beautiful work for your first project on the lathe. Looks like you have the skills to create some very nice work in the days, months and years to come. I love that you are involving your son. Not only will it enhance his talents and sense of self-worth, it will create memories that will last him a life time! "Did I ever tell about the time my Dad and I...."

That's a super project.
I have one question though. How do you stand like that without falling over? That's a real accomplishment.
