I've used Gorilla Glue too. It's waterproof and works.
Use some sandpapers or your Dremel for the base of the knot-the top of the handle and use as the other guys said a good epoxy.
Take the knot,hold it by the base and do some figure 8s on 180 grit paper (on a flat surface) this will assure that the old stuff is gone and the base is dead flat,ck the fit.You do not need alot of epoxy (any two part epoxy will do) I mix the epoxy in the bowl of the handle,about a 3/8 dab of each is enough,A cardinal sin is using to much and have it ooze out the top,Take a que tip,cut the ball off, mix the epoxy,spread it around in the bottom of the bore and about an 1/8 inch up the sides,DO NOT PUT ANY EPOXY ON THE KNOT BASE,seat the knot,Give it a slight twist left and right,done, can be used in two hrs.
I can tell you how not to do it. At about 35 years of steady use my Hoffritz For Cutlery badger knot fell into the sink when I was shaking the water out. I took a tube of silicone sealant to do the job. Probably not a bad thing but I used a bit too much and excess came out onto the bristles at the base of the handle. Not enough to effect the utility of the brush but I see it every time I pick it up. :boohoo: If I had it to do over I'd use much less material and it would be epoxy or gorilla glue. :gl:
I used a Dremel like tool to kind of grind away the dried up glue that was in there. I suspect it was highly toxic by the smell but I'm still alive. I picked up some Gorilla Glue epoxy, mixed it up and put a good dab in the base but not too much (so as not to have the issue JimmyHAD), set it in there and let it dry overnight. It seems as good as new now. I've used it a couple times since and there's no problem. Thank you all for your advice. If one pops out again, I'll know what to do with it.

I'm no brushmaker but I'm probably going to get that knot out of there and get a GN two band and try again with less adhesive. You guys are inspiring me. ;)
