| Summary: Today is the first day of my new job. A special occasion calls for a very special blade - and I succeeded in finding that. I wasn't really intending to win this gorgeous custom when I sent the seller an offer. Funny how life works though, isn't it? He accepted and it was soon on its way. When it arrived, I was immediately taken by the attention to detail. The steel is beautifully figured, and the firework on the spine is echoed in the damascus wedge and even the third pin spacer! The blade arrived with two small dings acknowledged in the seller's ad, so she went straight away to the Choseras. The bevel was reset using the 1k with some slurry followed by trips around the 5k and 10k. She then got a light nagura progression on my Oozuku Suita (no su). The result was an edge fit for a king! This razor was so smooth that I almost didn't feel it doing anything as I tackled three days of growth. I was nearly BBS after the first pass, but with a razor this nice, how could I not do more. ATG was effortless and I am proud to say that I think I'll be the best shaved man in the office! It was all tapped off with some of Guerlain's wonderful Habit Rouge! If everyone's week starts off this great, the world will be a phenomenal place! |
