So this coming Friday will officially be 50 years, my understanding is that several files will be released to the public, the reality is that I doubt they will shed any true light on the Kennedy Assassination..

I was in Naples Italy, we found out because the Military was put on alert and we didn't see Pops for 3 days as they sorted out that it wasn't a Russian attack ..

For many years I honestly thought that it was a conspiracy and that there was more than 1 shooter, later I learned of a few things that swung me more toward a single shooter scenario...

Today, I think that Oswald was the shooter, but the Conspiracy /Cover up is real, however they are covering up mistakes made before and after the shooting... Not that the Government was involved in any part of the actual planning or execution of the assassination..

I was still 9 years from existing at the time and so don't have a personal reaction to share, and since I have not spent any time actually researching the thing, I can't say I have a well-informed opinion. However, I have noted that that little fact tends not to stop many people from sharing their uninformed opinions!

I was a couple of months shy of twelve years-old, and sitting in Mrs. Mogavero's 7th-grade Spanish class. An "official" adult entered the classroom; she walked over to the door and he whispered something in her ear; she began to cry, walked back over to the windows, and drew the blinds, all the while crying. Then she told us.

I read a book, not too long ago -- "The Third Bullet" (a Bob Lee Swagger novel), by Stephen Hunter -- interesting story. When it's made into a movie, I really hope they don't cast Tom Cruise in the lead...

I was born in '65, so I'm the generation that remembers where they were when they heard about Elvis, the Reagan attempt, and John Lennon, not Kennedy. It still fascinates me, though, as it does many Americans who feel we really lost a great deal of innocence as a nation on that beautiful, tragic morning in Dallas.

I've been reading a ton of articles lately leading up to the 50th, including some VERY compelling conspiracy theories (which I hardly ever subscribe to). Part of the problem in getting at the truth of that day, as I see it, is that there is just such a gigantic volume of stuff that has been written, not even counting The Warren Report and the 3-year Church investigation, how many hundreds of books, thousands of articles, websites (some legit and some kooky), the great articles this week in Time and Smithsonian, etc., etc. I bet I've watched the Zapruder film, including the infamous "frame 313" a dozen times in the last few days alone, after reading the Smithsonian article about it; it still shocks and makes me well up, every single time...

And even the primary source materials from that day (many still pics, reports, even the Zapruder film itself!) are debated and analyzed endlessly, frame by frame. Who and what to believe? I haven't a clue; the more I read, the less I think I know. I even watched a YouTube video that posited his being shot by John Connally from the front seat! And I'm sure that, to make matters worse, I'll watch Oliver Stone's mesmerizing (but historically embellished) film again. Alas, even if the National Archives declassified every single document they have tomorrow, I doubt we'd be any closer to the truth...

He is an awesome author, I haven't read that one yet but if it is anything like his other "Bob Lee" books I would imagine the shooting facts to be quite well researched..

Would love to own one of the fictional "Black Kings" :p

For those that don't know the author, the really butchered story from his book "Point of Impact" was the loose basis of the Mark Whalberg movie "Shooter"
That book although having nothing to do with the Kennedy shooting gives a great example of how a "Patsy" can be created...

They did alot of forensic studys on that Rifle.The Italian Carcanos are a total POS Rifle.
The rapid rate of fire would be near impossible to achieve.
The scope was not mounted correctly,it would not even bore site.
A round struck the curb near JFKs limo,that was jack hammered out and removed the next day as was a stop sign with a bullit hole,never to be seen again,makes one wonder.

I was 18 years old, working in an auto body shop, and under a car bolting a fender back on when the news came over the radio in the shop. There was dead silence and the shop owner and I both stopped what we were doing and moved a couple of chairs over to the counter where the radio was. The owner fished a couple of cold beers out of his ice bucket and we sat down both in silent shock. I do not remember a word being said for about an hour as we listened to the fragmented reporting and the announcement that the president was dead. The owner closed the shop early that day.

I had no opinion on the why's and how's for several years later but I felt the world had changed at that moment. Post vietnam tour I began reading everything that I could find about the killing and the associated conspiracy theories. Watched the Zapruder film many times. Read the Warren Commission report, and on and on through the endless parade of theories set forth in hundreds of books supposedly addressing the conspiracy.

I will be 68 years old in a matter of weeks and I still believe that Oswald was a patsy as he claimed he was. I believe that the Dulles brothers and some high level military establishment types were a part of the conspiracy along with some CIA renegades who handled the ground work using shooters for hire. I believe LBJ understood the cold hard truth from the Dulles brothers and understood clearly that the war in Vietnam was back on the table and would not only proceed but would do so post haste and would continue to be escalated. I think LBJ clearly understood that to not follow those instructions would cost him his life.

I think that former General and President Eisenhower spoke the truth when he warned the American people that the military industrial complex posed an ominous threat to our democracy.

One other thing that many firearms experts have always questioned,any hunter knows an enterance wound is far smaller than an exit wound.
If oswald was shooting from behind the limo,why was a huge portion of JFKs posterior skull blown off (back of the head)

Too many holes in the Warren commissions's version of what happened for Oswald to be the single shooter.
