I couldn't really "like" this post, so I thought I should reply instead.
I didn't know him personally, but from what Ive read he was a good man and did what he could to make the world a better place, and that is all that could be asked of anybody. I wont get into any comment regarding his potential and desire to make the world better vs politics, but will say that he will be missed.
Will be missed.
Just saw this in the TV. He brought a lot to the music scene. At 94, he must have had a interesting life.
He was one of the founding fathers of the "folk music movement" and is right up there with Peter, Paul and Mary and similar groups. Many of the most iconic songs, some folk and some not he wrote and first performed.
He had a good long life and left us all the better for his being here. I celebrate his life and the gift he gave us all!
Thank you Pete!!!
He was one of the founding fathers of folk for sure. I've got a number of old videos of various 50's-60's era blues greats playing, sitting across that table from Pete holding his old-timey banjo.
Bummer!!
RIP Pete!
Those old crooners really changed music & were truly talented. RIP Mr. Seeger.
God bless you Pete and Thanks.
