And you can be a ready made lightening conductor when you get caught out in a storm. If you use rope you got something to practice your boy scout skills with in your down time.

For a brief time, one winter, I wore braces (suspenders) with some heavy wool pants. Braces were far more comfortable that either a copper, rope, or leather belt, I think. They were a little too much of a beacon...as I never saw another pair on anyone. But now, I am invisible, and this keep the pants up discussion is making me think of braces again (after 30+ years).
I have to admit, I'm becoming a convert to the Church of Braces. Far more comfortable than a belt! However, as you said, no one really wears them around here either. If I choose to follow this path, it's going to be a lonely walk in a dark world, with a whole heap of neon signs pointing at me. Guess I better just make sure I look real good doing it. Who knows. I might just gather a few disciples along the way. :)

I see you used the past tense Dave...are you spending your days now in a satin warm-up suit? They do look comfortable :D
I'm forming pictures of the perfect garments to spend the rest of my life in.
