Sweden did great! Congrats for real! What a series.
I really wish Finland would have gotten their medals today as well though! Congrats to the Finns as well.
Yeaaaaaaaa!!!! Great game!!!!
All the teams that participated in these Olympic Games were great competitors and all are winners!!
Yea, you can play a fast hard hitting game of hockey without staging WWF on skates. Mind you the fans get what they want and that seems to be the case in the NHL. Unfortunately that style of hockey starts at the Pee Wee level here now. If that isn't bad enough the parents of the players behave badly too at games. If nothing else at least the Olympics provides a better class of hockey.

Agreed! I've never been a fan of the goons, and it detracts from such a game of skill, and reduces it almost to a bar brawl...thankfully, my son plays in two leagues where they're very much about skill and not about physicality. At the 12-14 years old range, you get kids that are huge physically, and kids that are still waiting to hit that growth spurt, so to allow a body contact intensive game is unfair.
Either way, great game, congratulations to all!
I like(d) the goon aspect in NHL Hockey.
Olympics was never about that, but the intimidation factor in the NHL has always entertained me... just saying.
Congrats Canada for getting the greatest prize a hockey team can get. I really did expect Swedes to give tougher opponent but Canada was just so good. Now it's time to enjoy your medals, both gold and silver for Sweden.
Congrats to all teams. See ya all in Pyeongchang South Korea 2018!
Yea! Team Canada!
I am so happy that all the teams acted with such sportsmanship. There were very few fights or dirty shots and I am proud of our team's composure and grace.
Sailor, Finland had an awesome team! Unfortunate the way the draw ended up. I think a Canada Finland game would have been more exciting. Congratulations on the Bronze.
Cheers fellas!

Exactly, for me the NHL is more about being an entertainment industry and generating huge profits as it stands today. Here is an interesting read on fighting in the NHL History of Hockey Fights .
The funny part of all of this is that a lot of Olympic hockey teams have large numbers of NHL players on them. Those NHL players being consummate professionals can and do play either form of hockey extremely well. They play the style of hockey that they are paid and told to do. You want entertainment, they provide you with that ala NHL and its high level of violence compared to the international style of hockey.
