Memorial Day is a day set aside to remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. While some Governments seem to have forgotten what those who died were fighting for, the people seem to still be grateful.
While this television report is slanted to 'ding' the congressman, the story is intriguing and the townsfolk are amazing!

That was fantastic - thanks for posting. There are none more deserving of honor than those that sacrificed for the ideals of a way of life.
I'd told a customer at work about the wonderful gesture that the Warrior Flight Team did and suggested that she google for; Arlington Fly Over and she said she'd give it a go. When I got home I decided to give it a try and found what I was looking for but also this very touching and moving video with more background and family members talking. It includes so much background that I hope that even if you haven't seen my original link that you would really appreciate as Paul Harvey used to say; 'The Rest of the Story'.

I watched the Bing video a second time this morning with a heavy heart. What an honor for the MIA Pilot's families to finally have the opportunity to respectfully say goodbye. Thanks for bringing it here Cuda, this is by it's very nature the proper
meaning of Memorial Day. Gentlemen, please keep a part of your heart in sync with our lost heroes no matter what else you do this weekend. And God's speed to all our lost heroes that they rest in eternal light.

You know, memorial day is one of the things you guys have done proper!
While we do honor our war-time heroes up here, we don't have a day that is dedicated to them.
(well, we actually do, but hardly anyone up here knows about it)
We send our very best out to do battle for us
Ask them to defend what is dear to us, many of them paying the ultimate prize for our beliefs.
The very least we could do is pause.
Pause for one day a year and pay hommage to the ones who believed in, and fought for, what we all take for granted every day.
Our freedom, and our rights as a free nation of people.
This memorial day, as per usual, I will pull out my photo album and honor my family members who gave their lives during conflict and occupation.
My Great Granddad, his two brothers and one of their cousins, My grandma's brother and fiancé, all lost in German camps simply because they believed Norway was, and should always be, a free and sovereign nation.

I will get 'Off Topic' a bit. I served in the United State's Submarine Force on a Fast Attack Submarine (boat) during the early 70's. It was quite an honor to do so. Fast Forward Many Years to an event where the Russians lost a boat and all hands were lost (there has never been a successful rescue of a boat). The US had it's rescue unit speeding but to no avail.
Basically what happened is the crew went to sleep due to carbon monoxide poisoning. One crewman lived long enough to write a good bye letter to his family.
When I read and listened about this event, I wept openly. While during the cold war we were enemies we were still; 'Brothers of the Deep'.

27 years of age, of Easley, S.C.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 82nd Aviation Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.; killed Jan. 2 when her OH-58 Kiowa observation helicopter was shot down by enemy ground fire in Fallujah, Iraq.
