Use to watch the movie Tank when I was a kid. Loved that movie. He will be missed
James Garner was one of the best. I think he rated up there with John Wayne Lee Marvin James Corbin and one of my favorites Humphy Bogart. I know these are just a few of the greats and Mr. Garner belongs in that company. I still watch his TV shows and Movies.
I loved the Rockford files back when I grew up.
Even had the theme music as a ringtone at one time.
Seems he had a good career and a great run.

I don't know what it was about the guy, but I loved everything that he did, just because he was in it; I never tired of his apparently effortless acting, his charm and wry wit. I never missed episodes of "Maverick" and "The Rockford Files", and I saw many of his movies; he made even the lousy ones worth watching.
Well, Jim, at least the knees don't hurt anymore.

When I was a young 'un, and they hadn't begun to make 'movies for TV' yet, they used to show a lot of films from the '30s and '40s. My mom would be watching and some actor/actress from her era would be on the screen. She would say their name and lament the fact that they had passed away. Now, at my age I can remember that and know how she must have felt. The great ones that we knew and loved in our day are passing on and there is a sense of our own mortality as we see them go.
I liked him when I was maybe 10 years old in Maverick but I will always see him in my mind's eye as Jim Rockford. He had a good long run.
Always liked his soft spoken gentlemanly style. RIP

RIP Jim. Thanks for blessing us with so many fine memories of your craftsmanship. You will be greatly missed.
The Great Escape. One of my favorite movies and James Garner was such a great character in it. R.I.P.
