I have noticed when something does not go "my way" its all i think about, almost stew about. and when things go ok or even well i dont notice and i should..... so tell me whats going good in your life doesent have to be big ie. i payed my bills. I got new tires etc....:):)
One word: acceptance. It's tough to do, but once you get it your whole outlook on life changes for the better.

Does being upset fix it, help it, make it go away? What good does being upset about it do ? Let go , it's small stuff. It's ALL small stuff. The more stuff you make small the less it bothers you. The one that dies with the smallest stuff , wins :<0)
My dad used to say, when he was in his late 90s just waking up alive each morning was a blessing.
After near-catastrphe with brain disease last year, today I can again walk (with a cane), talk (even though slowly and missing about half my vocabulary) and think (sort of - nothiing like before, no longer the sharpest tack in the box). Bad news - my memory is screwed. Good news - I can't remember who I was mad at. Todays victory - sequentially picked up sticks in the yard, piled them up and then hand-sawed the bigger ones for an hour without falling over or hurting myself. This months victory - I can finally shave myself with a straight razor and return to public places absent worries about risk of infection.
Things to stew about - zero. Need ways to appreciate the little things? pm me.
Moo, glad you are thriving again. I waited too long, I was going to write sooner and tell you that I was your long lost brother and try to borrow fifty bucks from you. I have a friend that, due to being married, I see less frequently than I'd prefer. We have an odd form of mutual therapy where we sit around over a few beers and bitch like no one has ever heard. The complaining turns to laughter as we blow off steam and get things off our chest. It feels good knowing that your friend can sympathize with your situation and wouldn't dare suggest that you roll with the setback. Doesn't matter how small the issue is. I think I saw someone else mention acceptance. Yeah, part of it is accepting the fact that you're upset. There's no point in trying to deny that. The anger is a reaction. Its like waving your hand around after you bang your thumb. It doesn't help a bit but its simply a reaction to the pain. Maybe get your best buddy to meet you for a beer or two and have one of those "do you believe this crap" conversations.

This is a nice thread. I wasted far too much time being angry already. I think to what an old sponsor used to say, if you think you have got it bad you should go take a hot shower, while standing under the hot water you should start to count blessing, think of all the things you have to be grateful for, see how high you can go before you run out of hot water, because you know you are going to run out of hot water before blessings.
Very nice. I also like the one that "If we all put our problems on a table in front of us we'd end up taking our own back"

that was great guys, I heard alot of things that I liked, that really hit home, Its so easy to over look the things we should be grateful for.
Don't know where the saying came from but I think it may explain why we shave with straights. " Nothing will put the day in perspective as well as starting it out with a very sharp piece of steel at your throat. It lets you know how good it is to be alive." :gl:
Heres something. I bought a straight off the bay and it was a Torrie. Honed it up and shaved with it and it is now my favorite razor ever. Like ATG first pass and smooth kind of good.
Also I am getting a raise and then a promotion which will have more money added onto it by the next month. This is quite impressive as I am the least experienced and youngest of my peers to get this upcoming position. I have been at the job for less than two years and have already been promoted since and I am already on the same level as people have 10-15 years at the job. Guess thats what a strong work ethic and actual care for the job no matter how menial. Also my first child is almost here and I have almost everything in place for when she does decide to enter the world.
Anyways I wish you the best and hope everything works out. Funny thing, when I remember the things I used to fret about, I realize that they all ended up working out, maybe not the way I wanted them too at the time but nonetheless worked out and learned from any mistakes
