There is a U2 video where he tells Edge that "he was no good with chords (meaning BB)" BB always had a rhythm guitar player in his band so he could concentrate completely on singing and his solos. Nobody was a more tasteful lead player than BB, he could kill you with one note

Great piece on NPR radio this morning. They said he always paid his band members well and took care of his family financially. My wife and I saw him for the last time a couple of years ago. Old age and diabetes had taken its toll, he sat on a stool and played, the voice and guitar licks were still dynamic.

I love the blues. He was one of the best.

Just saw him perform about 6 years ago. He was amazing, humorous, and inspiring. One of the greats that affected just about every genre of music in one way or another. Very talented. I'm glad he lived a full life.

A great American. I reckon Love has finally come to town. He will always bless us with his talent. RIP.

Have had the privilege to meet and see him play several times ,, he has a place here in Memphis down on Beale street ,mind my wife used to sing in s band years ago that played there. He will be missed all around the world , but never more than in memphis. RIP BB

I saw him live at the Beacon Theater in NYC in the early 90s on his 50th anniversary of playing. IIRC Junior Wells and Buddy Guy were on the same bill. I had been listening to his recordings since the '60s and at that show he played one I had never heard before that blew my mind

One of the all-time greats. My wife and I went to see him at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium in early '94, when she was just about due with our oldest son. I hope they bury Lucille with him so he can play those soulful licks in eternity.

On the CBS news last night they featured two other players in Mr. King's coverage.

Clapton and Hendrix. Very rare company to be in.
