This is my 2 year anniversary of sleeping in a brazilian hammock full time. Rather than replacing my old mattress , $$$ , I opted for a 90$ XXL brazilian hammock and have never looked back. I belong to a hammock forum that primarily involves camping hammocks so I know there are many full time indoor hammock sleepers, but am curious if anyone here does so ?

I don't but was wondering how it is on your back? I have been through 4 different mattresses in 1.5 years the only place I can sleep and wake up rested and not in too much pain is the couch.
I can sympathize with your back pain . But to answer your question sleeping in a properly set up hammock has alleviated mine. But back pain has different causes and I would hesitate to state unequivocally that it will help everyone.

So is there a hammock set up to height ratio? I could probably set one up for sleeping in my garage. As a mattress costs $1k+ I'm much more apt to spend $100> or less to try and alleviate my back pain, worse comes to worse I have a great place to smoke a pipe and read a book. We have a spreader type tied between 2 trees but I don't find it terribly comfortable for extended periods.
Currently laying diagonally as your link suggests, far more comfortable this way.

There happens to be a app http://theultimatehang.com/hammock-hang-calculator/(of course) and it is very important for a proper diagonal lay to get it right. Im a big guy at 6'3" 255 lb and I have the longest and widest brazilian I could find .Quote:

Wow, a hammock forum...those characters must be crazy as #@%&house rats. I can hear them now, discussing the type of cord used in the slings, the kind of twist....:D
I can't dig the corpse position for sleeping as I am a side sleeper, but for chillin, hammocks are the cats pajamas. The Brazilian hammocks look super nice! I can imagine after a night of ayahuasca, flipping out of my hammock, fixing up my hair with mud and rubbing some achiote on my skin, tipping my darts with frog poison and hitting the jungle to drop a monkey.
