How smart is your wife/girlfriend ?? Does she ask mind numbingly stupid questions??

Not to put too much into this situation because for sure I know what frustrations you are going through but thing's didn't start off like this little story did it?.....




Mike was going to be married to Karen so his father sat him down for a little chat.

He said, "Mike, let me tell you something. On my wedding night in our honeymoon suite, I took off my pants, handed them to your mother, and said, "Here - try these on."

She did and said, "These are too big. I can't wear them." I replied, "Exactly. I wear the pants in this family and I always will."

Ever since that night, we have never had any problems.

"Hmmm," said Mike. He thought that might be a good thing to try.

On his honeymoon, Mike took off his pants and said to Karen, "Here – try these on."

She tried them on and said, "These are too large. They don't fit me."

Mike said, "Exactly. I wear the pants in this family and I always will. I don't want you to ever forget that."

Then Karen took off her pants and handed them to Mike. She said, "Here- you try on mine."

He did and said, "I can't get into your pants."


Karen said, "Exactly. And if you don't change your smart ass attitude, you never will."

One rule I have with my wife is "tell me what to do or tell me how to do it, but not both." She's pretty good at following that rule.
She's been in the US only since we were married (almost four years), but for some reason thinks I should know everything and she knows nothing (when it is convenient for her). For example, when she's not feeling well she'll ask me millions of questions about what is wrong with her and how to fix it. I've lost count of how many times I've told her that I am not a doctor, and that she should call one.
Of course, since she's been a parent for exactly as long as I have, she knows everything about caring for an almost-two-year-old boy and I know nothing so almost every night I get instructions on how to feed, diaper, and dress my son. But when it comes time to get him to sleep, and she can't do it, all of a sudden I'm father of the year and get called in to save the day.
Though undiagnosed by a physician, I'm confident that I have Asperger's Syndrome. I thought that caused more of our communication problems than cultural differences, but after reading this thread I am reevaluating that idea.

It seems like a few people here living in the US have foreign-born wives. Maybe we need to start a thread complaining about INS and now BCIS.

My turn to vent is over. Who's next?

Since you are so smart honey, do you want to pay more for a better(I didn't say lower so as not to give her a hint) a better deductible and if so what sort of number did you have in mind??

A woman will only look down upon her man if she knows she can get under his skin!
In other words, she knows that she has the power!
My advice to you, if you care to here it, don't let her get under your skin!! In fact, don't let any situation get under your skin. Be patient but firm. once you loose your cool you are no longer in control of yourself and are literally handing the reins of control to someone else.

Take my advice with a grain of salt.

I have the exact same rule with my wife. She has also been pretty good about following it. If she wants me to do something, she just gets out of the way or leaves the room, usually because loud cursing logically follows any difficult project she might have in mind.

Whenever I have to do something in the house, I go and ask her what she wants exactly (and luckily she is not too fussy about most things) and then her involvment is over and I go and do stuff.

Works like a charm.

Btw, as incredible as it sounds, I know from personal experience that as soon as the hair of a toddler is cut for the first time, it will thicken and grow significantly in just a few weeks.

When my son was an infant, like many infants he had a ring around his head with no hair. My wife was convinced that cutting his hair would make it grow in evenly and thicker. One day the two of them left the house headed to a friends and when they came back he had no hair. His head was shaved. He doesn't like to hold still, so I'm not sure how they did it. I wonder if they used a straight? Below is a picture not long after the "scalping" as my parents call it.

ETA: His hair did not grow back any different than it was before it was shaved.

Even though it's pure b.s. the myth is understandable. For the same reason many men think that shaving will make your hair grow thicker. It's an old bald guys' tale lol.
