Anybody know a good data recovery company?
The hard drive on my old laptop conked out a few months ago, and like an idiot I didn't back it up, even though I had a feeling it was coming.
I don't want to get most of the stuff back, but unfortunately there were a few files that I really need to get to.
Does anyone have any data recovery services that they'd recommend, based on price and reliability? I don't want to pay top dollar, but I don't want to end up with some fly-by-night company, either.
Suggestions?
Josh
A BILLION, GAZILLION THANKS!!!!!
Guys, you totally rock.
So I made a Linux Live CD as directed by John (Namdas). It booted right up, and I was able to access the files I wanted and pull them onto a USB drive. :y :bow :tu
I was totally prepared to spend $500 to get this stuff back. It's like payday!
SRP is the best resource ever--better than the Internet at large, because you can ask questions of people you at least know a little bit.
So once again, thanks for everything. I'm a happy, happy man.
