I'm stepping away from the chewing gum pouches for a while & I'm about to finish a tool holder for my favorite tool. In about 2 days I'll post photos.

I have a created a M.O.S. (Mobile Work Shop),, no not a bench,, a "shop" & I will unveil it in about a week. I will create some scales out of Australian Native Wood that was given to me as a PIF a few years ago, using the Mobile Work Shop.

I hope I can handle the suspense!

You've been hiding your talent under a bushel. I never could control watercolors. Liked being able to constantly manipulate oil colors since they took time to dry. Tried acrylics, but like watercolors dried to fast.

I liked Oils for the same reason as you but,too toxic for me lol.Watercolors turned out to fit my spontaneous nature and the portability was also fitting for me(I do very small paintings no bigger than 7"x10" generally). I have in later years taken to watercolor pencils which give me greater control but, I don't get near as good of washes like in the first painting. Cheers !

Here is the tool holder I have worked on the past couple of days. It is molded to my most liked tool, a Ridgid metal shears. I have 2 pair. It cuts through all kinds of things. I first discovered them after catching a bike thief who carried a pair like these to cut away bike cables. He could cut through them faster than it took you to say, "Hey,, Hey,,, come back with my bike!!".

I had some scrap leather, old bull's belly leather, so I made a holder for them.

I may have to hit you up for a small project or two John,you do very good work. So how's that bike theivin panning out for you then ?

I take a piece of wood board, about 1 foot by 10 inches,,, wet my leather until it is very flexible,,,I wrap the tool or magazine in cling wrap to protect it from the wet leather,,,, place the tool on the board & leather on top of the tool,,,, use a hand stapler to position one side of the leather to the board,,,, begin forming the wet leather around the tool using wooden pegs/dowels with no sharp edges to form around the tool,,, then start stapling around the tool to hold the leather form on the wood,,,, slowly remove the tool,,,, use a heat gun at 200 degrees to dry the leather,,,,it will dry & hold the latest shape you give it,,,,, after dry(about 20 minutes,,,, cut shape from board & match it to a back piece,,,, you can heat the form in an oven at 125 degrees for about 40 minutes , if you don't have a heat gun.
