I wonder what stones he used to sharpen that plane. I bet you could shave with that. That is talent. Wow.
The material alone to build that would cost a pretty penny. Also, think of the time it would take to move his camera and set it up. Another thing I think of is, he has a good wife for taking care of his rug rats while he works.
He has some other very cool vids as well.
Excellent bench and video. I liked the ending when he was planing and the "ribbon" was see through. That is a sharp plane. The one thing that got me was I thought he was about to bury that "slick" in his arm when he was leaning over his work holding it down.
I made a few benches when I started off as a apprentice Carpenter Joiner but nothing as beautiful as that wonderful creation.
That's a work of art and some amazing talent.

Great workmanship, I noticed a lot of his hand tools are Japanese. Chisels, tenon saw, mallets and the wood block plane. Probably why he called it the Samurai.
